About Creative Solution Foundation
Creative Solution Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting tattoo culture and creative expression through long-form storytelling, community programs, and healing-centered initiatives.
We believe creativity is a powerful tool for connection, identity, and community growth. Our work is grounded in cultural documentation, intentional programming, and ethical practice.
What programs are active today?
Below are active programs with real impact today.
Tattooed Phoenix Project
Healing-centered tattoo work that connects participants with trauma-informed artists in safe, respectful spaces.
Skindependent Magazine
A bi-annual publication documenting tattoo culture through long-form storytelling and visual exploration.

Skindependent Magazine
Skindependent is our bi-annual print and digital publication documenting tattoo culture as it exists in real life. The magazine focuses on working artists, studios, collectors, and the evolution of the craft. Editorial direction remains independent and curated to preserve integrity and depth.
Our Approach
We operate with clarity and intention. All programs are designed to support:
-
Artists and creative practitioners
-
Access to education and creative resources
-
Healing, community engagement, and cultural preservation
We publish thoughtfully. We partner with long-term impact in mind. We build programs to last. Editorial decisions are made independently of funding or sponsorship, and submissions for features are reviewed through a defined editorial process.
Why It Matters
Tattooing and art are cultural languages. They tell stories of identity, resilience, history, and community. By documenting, publishing, and supporting creative expression, we help preserve culture and create space for voices that are often overlooked.
Founder
My name is Candy Dunbar
I started the Creative Solution Foundation because I’ve seen how art can help people heal, find confidence, and feel connected. I wanted to build something that gives back, something that opens doors for artists and students who need support.
